This is not just a book – it’s a journey into the power of words, the voice, and inner freedom. The book explores the miracle of speech, the impact of words and voice, and the masterpieces that only humans can create. It tells the story of a method developed from over twenty years of experience working with audiences – the history of Rhetoric and Retotherapy.
This book is in Lithuanian.
What is Rhetoric?
Rhetoric, or eloquence, is the energy of the speaker’s intellect, spirit, and emotions, used to persuade listeners (Regina Koženiauskienė).
Its purpose is to influence the mind, will, and emotions. From this, three main functions of rhetoric emerged: to persuade the mind, the will, and the emotions. As A. Pellissier wrote:
“The art of shaping intellect and encouraging action conveys thoughts and feelings to others, captivating their mind, heart, and will.”
Greek philosophers argued that rhetoric encompasses all areas of life – from poetry to advertising, from everyday communication to public speaking. Aristotle stated:
“Rhetoric, like dialectics, does not belong to a single sphere but encompasses all areas of human life.”
Today, its application is just as broad – all our linguistic activities can be strengthened with rhetoric.
Rhetoric is the art of free people. It is the art of speaking freely, trusting oneself, and persuading others not through threats or manipulation, but through genuine connection. When a person is free inside, their words become persuasive, inspiring, and transformative.
Retotherapy – The Path to Your True Self
Retotherapy is a method developed by the author to help reveal inner potential, discover the true Self, and achieve inner freedom through learning rhetoric.
Retotherapy is:
A path to inner freedom – overcoming fears and limiting beliefs.
Practical self-discovery – uncovering personal values, strengths, and possibilities.
Voice, breathing, and body harmony – releasing your words and energy so they resonate outward.
Therapy through speech – reconnecting with the True Self.
This book not only teaches how to speak persuasively but also enables inner transformation, helping you become a free person confident in yourself, your words, and your ideas.
Five Key Elements of Rhetoric and Retotherapy
Beliefs – Our beliefs shape daily life, actions, and decisions. They can be limiting (fear, self-doubt) or supportive (courage, self-confidence). Retotherapy teaches how to transform limiting beliefs into supportive ones, making them your strengths.
Breathing – Whoever controls their breath controls the situation. Conscious breathing helps relax, manage stress and energy, and strengthen the connection with the audience. Breathing exercises release deep emotional blocks, calm the mind, and create inner harmony.
Body – Is the body merely a frame for the head or a temple that houses our energy? A relaxed, free body radiates confidence, vitality, and energy that others feel.
Voice – The voice is the spirit of a person in words. A trained, natural voice reaches listeners’ hearts, amplifying influence and persuasiveness.
Algorithms for Results – Practical methods to consolidate acquired knowledge and achieve tangible outcomes. The book offers concrete strategies for applying rhetoric in daily communication, public speaking, and professional contexts.
